Living Green is Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre’s environmental movement that inspires our staff and guests to care for our environment as a way of life.

Here at Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre, we are fully committed to conducting our operations in such a way that minimises our risk and adverse effects on the environment.

Meeting & Events Initiatives


  • The hotel has installed a water filtration system which is used to refill our glass bottles for our Suites
  • All plastic cups and bottles have been replaced by reusable glass alternatives.
  • All crockery, cutlery provided is reusable with no plastics.
  • Guests are provided with recycled paper pads along with pens made from recycled material.
  • All lighting throughout the Meeting & Events Suites is set to automatically switch off when not in use.
  • Delegate menus have been produced to ensure local produce is used with a variety of options available for those that have dietary requirements.

Manchester City Green Initiatives


Manchester’s Green Trail Walking Route was established in 2012. It is a partnership of Manchester City Council, City of Trees, the Ramblers Association, Living Streets and TfGM. The Green Corridor is a walking circuit made of 14 routes which goes round the City of Manchester and connects many of the City’s parks, woodlands and open spaces.

Manchester city centre free fully-electric bus

These free fully-electric buses contribute to a better environment for everyone who lives in, works in and visits the city centre.

Cycling around Manchester
Transport for Greater Manchester, working in partnership with Manchester City Council, Salford City Council and Trafford Council, has launched Greater Manchester’s first publicly operated, self-service, 24/7 cycle hire scheme.
