Things to Do in Manchester

Manchester has more to offer beyond Manchester United and Manchester City. Famous for Boddingtons beer, Coronation Street, and Madchester music and to name but a few. There is much more to the area than football. Manchester offers it all with world-class shopping, museums, nightlife and, more. With a history of Industrial Revolution the city consistently evolves which makes it such an exciting place to be.

The worker Bee is Manchester’s symbol and can be seen throughout the city on the pavement, buildings and even on the post-boxes. Dating back to the time of the Cotton Mills it came to the forefront again when the city united in 2017. With Bees also been such a part of the worlds eco-system, throughout the city on top of buildings there are Bee gardens there to protect them and let them pollinate throughout the city.

Manchester is a hive of activity when it comes to helping others and this doesn’t stop at people visiting the city. Places such as Mustard Tree shop where you can pick up an antique at a bargain and the Manchester Shop based in the quirky Northern Quarter are fantastic places to visit and their profits are donated back into the charities they were started for.

Manchester has a host of activities that help you see the city. Ranging from the famous Manchester Walking tour to cruises down the river to see the old ship canals and how it has evolved and become Media City, home to the BBC. There is even a chance to hop on one of the Bee Bikes or Scooters and take yourself round the city on the new Manchester Bee Network that go out all the way to the neighbouring burrows of Didsbury and Chorlton which are full of independent shops and bars.

With buildings such as John Rylands Library and Chethams School of music which hosts Europe’s oldest Library dating back to the 15TH century, Manchester is a hub of history and culture. Many of these place are free to visit and well worth it especially Manchester Art Gallery, The Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester Museum and National Football Museum.
